History and today
Sirius Insurance was established by the Johnson Group 1945. By 1947, Sirius was active in marine, fire, burglary, guarantee, machinery and livestock insurance. The marine account provided the bulk of the premium income, totaling slightly more than SEK 3 million.

The role as a BI-developer

The Business Intelligence Developer is a member of the Information Delivery team within the Sirius International organization. The BI developer role will be responsible for operational support for the Information Delivery Reporting. The BI-Development Team consists of 4-6 developers spread globally.

This role will be responsible for building and maintaining Analytic reports and cubes using Microsoft Business Intelligence technology. As a frontend focused BI-Developer you may also build dashboards in Microsoft Business Intelligence or other BI tools.

For operational support, you will own the issue from beginning to end by analyzing the issue, making suggestions for modifications, changes or enhancements to correct the issue, developing the solution and implementing the solution.

For projects or enhancements, you will interpret and/or gather requirements that have been documented by other business members submitting the work request. You will also work closely with other senior members to ensure standards are being kept during development time.

With Analysis Services Cubes design task, you will work closely with the business to understand business requirements for the Cube. This supports both self-service reporting as well as BI Team report development.

Responsibilities may include:
• Creating and maintaining Analytic reports.
• Optimizing existing Data Models to meet the standards
• Modeling and building Cubes based on business requirements, best practices and standards; creation of functional and technical design specifications

Previous experience
• Advanced knowledge within Cube and Report development
• At least 5 years of experience as a BI-Developer developing Cubes and reports.
• 2 years of experience with Data Models and ETL Development
• Knowledge of reporting presentation options (Web, Excel, etc.)

Preferred experience
• Data Modeling
• Solid experience from SQL Development
• Good experience from designing and building Dashboards
• Basic understanding of Database Administration
• Develop realistic plans needed to accomplish objectives and team goals
