Nordea is now looking for a Solution Architect within Capital Impact
We are looking for an experienced Solution architect/ Expert IT developer who can take a prominent role in designing and developing Nordea’s new collateral system as well as in other initiatives. The Capital Impact team in Retail Banking provides group-wide IT solutions that ensure effective use of capital and secure the desired risk appetite within Nordea. We also ensure Nordea’s recovery position and minimize losses.
We are located in central Copenhagen, Gothenburg and in Stockholm where we have some of our business partners. We support business partners across the whole of Nordea, which means that you must expect some travel and have excellent English communication skills. As part of our journey to simplify and reinvent our IT solutions, we are looking for the best and brightest to join us.
The position we offer
In this role you will be very hands-on, using your development and architecture expertise to foresee and solve problems at different level of detail and complexity. As a member of an agile organization, you will work with many development activities, including architecture, analysis and design. Initially you will work in a large development program, exchanging several local collateral systems to one Nordic. This will allow you to build an extensive understanding of the collateral management processes in Nordea, thus securing a smooth transition from program to line organization.
You collaborate closely with stakeholders from across the organisation including business, operations and different development teams. You have the freedom to find the right solutions together with the teams and product owners. The solutions you design and help implement are aligned with our target and transition architectures for our future IT landscape.
You will work in an international environment with people from across the Nordics and our offshore location in India - an excellent opportunity for you to grow and learn from other experts.
The qualifications you need
You take responsibility and don’t wait around for assignments. You are a self-starter and make sure you find the information you need to be great at your work. You collaborate easily with others in the team and can take the lead in facilitating and driving decisions on architecture and design of the solutions. You don’t miss an opportunity of further developing practices and processes, and help the teams to improve the continuous delivery flow.

People around you think you are easy to work with and you enjoy communication as much as collaboration. You master communication and collaboration with many different people across the organization when exploring stakeholder needs. You are great at communicating specifications, architecture and design, even for complex systems.
Together with product owners and our agile teams you can balance conflicting requirements to the architecture and find the right approach to move forwards towards the vision. You are able to translate business and architectural requirements into concrete actions and solutions. You easily coordinate the architecture work across the teams and initiatives you are involved with.
Further qualifications and meritorious experience
- Experience from modern technologies and platforms including Java and .NET
- Experience from Service-oriented architecture
- Prior experience with Oracle SOA Suite and OSB (Oracle Service Bus) development will be highly valued. You probably have a developer background and experience with coding
- Solid experience from agile software development and strong knowledge of agile practices and principles
- Experience from multiple technologies and standard patterns and be able to independently develop and create solutions where integration plays a central role
- Ability to describe and communicate the architecture to stakeholders, and from there be able to explain and argue for that specific solution
- You feel comfortable pursuing a solution through all its phases, from an idea to delivery
- You have prior experience from the financial industry
- Your English skills are excellent
